Senior Bookkeeper - Part-Time, Self Employed (Wigan)

Part-Time Senior Bookkeeper – Wigan and surrounding areas About the Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to work with our clients on a part-time, self-employed basis. You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function while providing valuable support to the wider finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy and wants to make a genuine commercial impact. Alongside the core bookkeeping responsibilities, you’ll help improve financial processes, strengthen controls and drive greater efficiency, accuracy and visibility across the finance function. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities Prepare and submit VAT returns Manage credit control and cash collection Oversee inventory management Complete regular bank reconciliations Manage purchase and sales ledgers Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Support month-end processes Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency Provide finance support to the Financial Controller as required About You You’ll bring: Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper Strong experience preparing and submitting VAT returns Excellent credit control skills The ability to work independently and take ownership Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills A proactive, hands-on approach The ability to work effectively alongside and support the Financial Controller Role Details Location: Wigan and surrounding areas | onsite Hours: 2 days per week Start Date: ASAP Rate: £25 Basis: Self-employed About The Part-Time Finance People At The Part-Time Finance People, we help ambitious SME owners build more profitable, scalable and enjoyable businesses We go beyond traditional finance support.
