General Catering Assistant

We are seeking a General Catering Assistant to join our catering team in Limerick, Ireland. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic, professional catering environment. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and customer service. You will work as part of a supportive team, contributing to the smooth operation of our catering services across various events and functions. • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items in accordance with established recipes and procedures, ensuring consistency and quality • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas, adhering rigorously to food safety regulations Support senior catering staff in the setup and breakdown of catering events and service areas with enthusiasm and attention to detail • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as directed by the catering team, working efficiently to meet service timelines • Assist with the serving of food and beverages to clients and guests in a professional and courteous manner, demonstrating excellent customer service Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively, following all operational guidelines • Monitor stock levels and assist with the organisation of storage areas, maintaining accurate records • Follow all health and safety procedures and report any hazards or concerns to management promptly and transparently Respond to special dietary requirements and food allergies with care and attention, ensuring inclusive service for all guests • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the catering operation through teamwork, flexibility, and a collaborative approach • Maintain resilience and composure during busy service periods, adapting to changing priorities as required **Required:** • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Strong organisational and time management skills • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Good communication and people skills • Willingness to follow instructions and procedures • Flexibility with shift patterns, including evenings and weekends where required • Reliability and punctuality • Ability to maintain composure under pressure • Basic numeracy skills for stock monitoring and organisation **Desirable:** • Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service • Food hygiene certification or Level 2 Food Safety in Catering qualification • Experience with specialist kitchen equipment • Knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergies • Experience in event catering or banqueting services • Willingness to learn and develop within the catering industry About Aramark  Aramark Ireland is a leader in food, facilities, and workplace services, supporting clients across healthcare, education, business, and the public sector.
