They explore a wide range of topics, including number theory, algebra, geometry, counting, statistics, and probability. Students learn advanced problem solving techniques by tackling compelling problems, including many drawn from major national math contests such as MATHCOUNTS and AMC 8. Honors Math 7 - Intro to Algebra: Students engage with mathematical expressions from an algebraic and geometric perspective. They solve linear and quadratic equations, represent expressions in the Cartesian plane, and develop a deep understanding of functions. Students are also introduced to the rich field of complex numbers. They tackle challenging word problems and advanced problems from contests such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC 8, and AMC 10. AMC 8/MATHCOUNTS Comprehensive Training: Students prepare for top math contests such as MATHCOUNTS and the AMC 8 and AMC 10. They explore important topics in counting, probability, and number theory, and apply topics in algebra and geometry to advanced problems to sharpen their skills for middle and high school contests.
